The beautiful South African Zozibini Tunzi, Miss Universe and second ever for a Black woman, now joins the country's pageant panel of judges. Black leadership for young South Africans participating and young African girls brings inspiration and chance to design a bright future, breaking through barriers.

Zozibini Tunzi selected as judge for South Africa's beauty pageant competition

Actress and presenter Nomzamo Mbatha will host the Miss South Africa pageant and Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi will be one of the jury members, it was announced. Tunzi will return home next week, when the contest takes place on October 24, at the Bay Hotel in Cape Town, Western Cape.

Reigning Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi (27) will be part of an all-female jury, which includes Peggy-Sue Khumalo, Anele Mdoda and Leandie du Randt. A fifth judge has yet to be revealed. Tunzi, who was crowned Miss South Africa last year and went on to win Miss Universe, says she was impressed by the jury during her year of participation.

"I know what it's like to be in the job these amazing women are applying for. I am delighted to see how this experience will be useful to the jury. A woman's life is about to change and I am part of a group that will make it happen. I'm nervous, but mostly excited about it, ”she said.

She went on to give some advice to the finalists: “I would say be bold and courageous, stay curious, informed and invest in lifelong learning opportunities. Get hungry and when you get a picture, take it! And remember that your emotional, physical and mental well-being are closely linked and all three are equally important."

"I believe that any potential Miss South Africa winner should be genuine, bold, unapologetic and should be a symbol to not only assume the position of Miss South Africa, but also to exert an influence on the decisions that shape our communities," common social and economic prosperity, "Tunzi added, while indicating that what she was looking for in the woman who will wear the crown of Miss South Africa 2020 is" raw authenticity and sincerity on who she is."

The Top 10 Miss South Africa finalists who come from across the country are: Aphelele Mbiyo, Busisiwe Mmotla, Chantelle Pretorius, Jordan van der Vyver, Karishma Ramdev, Lebogang Mahlangu, Melissa Nayimuli, Natasha Joubert, Shudufhadzo Musida and Thato Mosehle.
